image068 - U.S. WORLD WAR II 101st AIRBORNE PARATROOPER JUMP WING WITH EAGLE’S HEAD ATTACHMENT – BRITISH MADE!

Price: $695.00

This is one fantastic World War II British made U.S. 101st Airborne Paratrooper Jump Wing in outstanding condition. The jump wing has had a eagles head attached to the parachute shroud lines as opposed to the arrowheads or combat jump stars that are normally seen as attachments to the wing. This small eagle’s head exhibits exceptionally well defined detail and is affixed to the wing by having its two wide prongs passing through two separate holes drilled into the shroud line area of the parachute and then being firmly bent over to hold the device securely in place. Both the obverse and reverse of the wing are handsomely age toned, as is the eagle’s head, which has a perfectly matching patina. This wing was made by the prestigious firm of J.R. Gaunt, London and is so marked in raised letters on the reverse of the chute canopy. The eagle’s head device identifies the wearer as a member of the 101st Airborne Division. This is truly a spectacular jump wing and only the 3rd or 4th I have ever seen. It is in superb condition and as scarce as they get.
