This is a beautiful British World War II and post war group of 6 medals awarded to 21139031 RFN Lalbahdur Sarki, 7th Gurka Regiment that is in excellent condition. The group consists of the 1939-1945 Star, The Africa Star, The Italy Star The Defense Medal, The 1939-45 War Medal, The Indian Independence Medal, and the 1918 General Service Medal with bar “Malaya”. The campaign stars and the Defense and War Medals are un named as issued. Both the Indian Independence Medal and the General Service Medal are correctly named on the rim. This beautiful group retains its original ribbons and is mounted with as worn. The long pin assembly on the rear of the bar is complete and fully functional. The 7th Gurka Rifles saw extensive action in North Africa and Italy. They were present at the fighting around Monte Lungo and Monte Cassino. After the Second World War, Lalbahdur Sarki remained in the army and saw further in the arduous campaign service in Malaya during the interim between the end World War II and start of the Korean War.
