Here we have a beautiful pair of World War II U.S. Navy/Marine Corps pilot’s pin back wings that are in excellent condition. The wing measures 2¾ inches from tip to tip. The gilt finish has nicely and evenly age toned. The wings and the fouled anchor exhibit truly excellent detail. The reverse is complete with the original pin and catch assemblies both of which are fully functional. The maker’s name, “Vanguard, N.Y.” appears in raised letter down in the recessed area behind the central shield. A beautiful looking in piece in excellent condition.
