This is a magnificent First World War Imperial Bavarian 6 place medal bar in complete and pristine condition. The bar consists of the Prussian 1914 Iron Cross 2nd class, the Bavarian 1914-1918 Military Service Cross IV class with swords, the Oldenburg Freidrich-August Cross with bar “Von dem Friede (Against the Enemy), the Prussian Flanders Cross with bar “Ypern”, the 1914-1918 Hindenburg Honor Cross with swords and the 1897 Kaiser Centennial Medal for service during the 100th anniversary of the reign of the House of Hohenzollern. The 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class retains a beautiful stove black finish to both the obverse and reverse sides. The crown, “W” and “1914” date on the obverse and the crown, “FW”, oak leaves, and “1813” on the reverse side are in very nice relief. The Bavarian Military Service Cross IV class is constructed of “900” grade fine silver and with perfect dark blue enamel to both sides. It is complete with separately applied swords at the top to indicate combat valor. The reverse of the tip of one sword is nicely struck with “900”. The reverse of the top suspender is also nicely marked “950”. The Freidrich-August Cross is complete with virtually all of the dark bronze finish to both sides and is with the “Von dem Friede” bar affixed to the bi fold ribbon. The Prussian Flanderenkreuz is with all of its original finish and very nicely detailed. This cross was issued to those Kaisermarine units that served and fought on land as infantry or artillery units. Attached to the ribbon is the bar “Ypern” awarded for combat action at Yrers in Flanders. The 1914 Hindenburg Cross of Honor is an exceptionally clean example and is with swords as awarded to combat veterans. The Kaizer Centennial Medal is also pristine and with virtually all of the original gold wash. The medals are mounted on parade folded ribbons that are nicely padded and all in exceptional condition and without any flaws whatsoever. The reverse of the bar is backed with dark, navy blue wool and free from any moth damage. The long brass pin and catch assembly are both fully functional. This is just one gorgeous looking medal bar to an heroic Bavarian war veteran that is complete with three separate combat valor awards in superb condition.
