This is a magnificent early World War II German War Service Cross 1st Class is maker marked and in pristine condition. It is a beautifully struck tombac piece that exhibits very fine detail to the stippling in the arms, the leaves around the swastika and the sword hilts. The cross retains virtually all of its original white frosted finish and is with polished highlights. It is complete with the original wide “coke bottle” pin on the reverse side which is completely operational. The underside of the pin is nicely incised with the maker’s LDO code “62” for the firm of Kerbach & Österhelt, Dresden. They don’t get much nicer than this.
