This is a superb German World War II Model 1939 Black Wound Badge that is in stone mint condition. The badge is complete with virtually all of the original black finish with only the slightest hint of wear to a few of the edges on the swastika. Other than this the badge is 100% on both the obverse and reverse sides. The reverse side is complete with the original pin and catch assemblies both of which are fully operational. Even the pin on this beauty retains all of the black finish. Just above the recessed front part of the helmet on the reverse side is the manufacturer’s LDO code “108” in raised letters. This is for the firm of Arno Wallpach, Salsburg. This is one gorgeous piece and truly a magnificent example that would be next to impossible to upgrade.
