096 - WWII GERMAN BLUE LEATHERETTE CASE FOR THE LUFTWAFFE PILOT’S BADGE – EXCELLENT!

This is an absolutely beautiful World War II German blue leatherette case for the Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge in excellent condition. The case measures 3 by 3¼ inches and exhibits some very minor and extremely light overall storage wear to the exterior blue leatherette. The outer lid of the case is boldly marked, “Luftwaffen Flugzeugfuhrerabz.” in gold leaf on two lines. The interior of the lid is pressed cardboard, which is with a medium blue flocking. There is the impression of the badge in the flocking and the area that rests against the eagle’s head has been slightly pierced by the badge. The domed base upon which the badge rests is more of a royal blue than the lid lining and also has the impression of the badge’s wreath clearly outlined. The interior paper hinge cover is completely intact with the spring catch and closure push button remaining fully functional. This is an extremely fine looking case in which your pilot’s badge can be beautifully displayed and just as nice an example as you could hope to find.

097 - AFRIKA CORPS MEDAL ON PARADE MOUNT WITH RIBBON DEVICE

This is a very scarce Afrika Korps medal setup that is one beautiful looking piece. The medal is parade mounted on a padded ribbon and has a silver ribbon attachment consisting of a finely detailed laurel wreath with a roman sword superimposed upon it. The cross guard of the sword is inscribed with “ITALIA”. The planchet is silver colored and not the bronze style. It is finely detailed and nicely toned. The reverse of the ribbon is faced with a green wool backing and hand sewn to the bar. The pin assembly is complete and fully functional. This is a very attractive and seldom seen version of this beautiful medal and one that was only awarded to members of Rommel’s Afrika Korps.

098 - WWII GERMAN CROSS IN GOLD BY ZIMMERMAN – EXCELLENT!

This is a superb German World War II German Cross in Gold that remains in excellent condition. The cross is the four hollow rivet style and is maker marked with the number “20” on the under side of the pin on the reverse side. The enamel on the swastika is without damage and the black on the rays of the starburst exhibit only minor wear to the high spots. The pin assembly is complete, excellent and fully functional. This superb cross is being sold with a correct black leatherette presentation case that is a REPLICA. The case is properly constructed and is fine for displaying the medal and for protecting it but as I said … it in NOT an original. The medal, however, is a fantastic looking and completely original example!

100 - LUFTWAFFE OFFICER’S BREAST EAGLE IN BULLION

This is a beautiful early war Luftwaffe officer’s full size uniform breast eagle in bullion. The eagle is constructed from three different weights if silver bullion thread on a Luftwaffe gray wool backing. The reverse has a black paper and gauze backing. This eagle is in excellent condition and without and damage, corrosion or mothing. A nice, tight example.
